Well it has been a while since we updated but there has been a lot going on around the club.
Our Annual General Meeting is over with a very positive attitude from all present which looks good for the coming season. All our committee positions were filled prior to the meeting and we welcome two new members to the Executive. We elected three new Life Members, Ken Lipscomb, Brian Davison and Brian Eatwell - congratulations. Our constitution was also updated.
During the week prior the the AGM we attended a Sport Canterbury lunch to accept our certificate for the Club Mark Gold Award and at our AGM Vince Roper CDO for Bowls New Zealand presented us with the Gold Club Mark Award. A first for bowls for both awards.
We are looking to the new season with 17 new members joining our ranks and we hope they enjoy the Beckenham culture and our sport.
One of our success stories has been our Crack A Jack Bowls over the past three years. We will be starting this again on Wed 28 Oct @ 6.00pm. If anyone is interested in joining in this fun and exciting 6 night competition for non bowlers contact details are on this site. You will be given a warm welcome.
With our Opening Day on the 12 September we have a pre season get together planned for the Friday 28 August - more details shortly.
