Both the Women & Men selectors plan on a trial in the morning, with only one green it may not be possible to accommodate all players, but those contacted or interested in trialing should be down at 9:30am, when the No 2 green is officially open for play.

In the afternoon starting at 1.30pm will be the Presidents Fours, once again limited to 64 players on the single green. Some who play in the morning may like to leave a spot for others in the afternoon.

Our thanks goes out to C.J. for organising last weekends Opening Day entertainment, which was great fun for all involved, and, despite the bad weather ruling out play, set off our season with a bang.

OPENING DAY SATURDAY 13 SEPTEMBER

Today I meet with the Green Supervisor (Jim McFie) and the Green Keeper
(Max Farrell) to discuss the state of our greens. The wet, cold winter
has prevented the greens being playable for Opening Day and if this wet
spell continues the greens may not be ready until Saturday 20 September.
We must take into account the fact that we attempted to open one week
earlier than last season.
Consequently the Opening Day programme will be modified as follows:

4pm Season opening by our Patron, Jim Anderton
John Lamb will have the honour of delivering the jack

4.45pm Welcome from your President

5pm -6pm Happy hour and finger food

7pm onwards Swing into the new season with Karaoke and nibbles organised
by your Social Convenors CJ Hargreaves and Mike Abel

DRESS: AS THERE WILL BE NO PLAY ON THE GREENS PLEASE WEAR MUFTI

I suggest you arrive at the Clubhouse around 3.30pm so you can be given
your Club Handbooks, have time to pay your subs and be fitted with your
new club jacket.
